Dundalk boss Filippo Giovagnoli has hinted that he has already signed a new deal to commit to the club for next season.

The Italian was a surprise appointment as successor to Vinny Perth at the end of August but had been promised the job on the back of guiding the club to the Europa League group stages.

While nothing official has been announced confirming Giovagnoli’s permanent appointment, speaking ahead of Sunday’s FAI Cup final he suggested it was a done deal with preparations for next season already underway.

“Everything is set up,” he said.

“We are now just looking and preparing everything for next season.
“We are fully setup. We could have been setup before but it was not our focus to be honest to extend the country but it is setup now and everything is fine.”

Giovagnoli also reiterated that he would welcome the opportunity to work alongside a new Director of Football with the club’s pursuit of Jim Magilton for the newly created role understood to be nearing completion also.

“We need to make better structures within the club and if this is the first step then I’m happy to work with anyone,” said Filippo.

“I’m happy to learn from anyone and I’m happy to share with anyone. I’m this kind of guy and I’m looking forward to eventually having someone there but we’ll see when it happens,” he said.
