Dundalk head coach Vinny Perth says he doesn’t expect full back Cameron Dummigan to depart Oriel Park this month.

The Northern Irish U-21 international has been the subject of a series of transfer speculation across the water with Sky Sports News reporting last week that Grimsby Town had an offer turned down for the Lurgan man.

Luton, Millwall, Ipswich, Lincoln and Forest Green are just some of the clubs also understood to be monitoring the 23-year-old, who has struggled to dislodge Sean Gannon from the side since joining from Oldham Athletic in February.

Asked about the interest in Dummigan, Perth said: “We don’t need to sell Cameron Dummigan.”

He added: “We don’t need him to leave the club. We hold him in really high regard.

“You never say never in football but it would have to be a fairly decent offer for us to entertain anything. That’s my understanding of it and my personal opinion but I think the owners and the board would share that view.”
